Dear
Customer(s),
This is for your
information.
KOREA - Customs
Regulations on Goods Descriptions
A broadcast
was sent in September to advise that KR Customs would begin imposing fines from
01/10/12 for wrong / meaningless descriptions of goods, however for a number of
reasons this did not come into force. KR Customs will now start imposing fines
from 01/12/12, therefore please ensure compliance with the below requirements
-
Please note
that Korea customs authorities will impose penalties in cases where wrong
descriptions are transmitted to KR customs from 01/12/12
Descriptions entered
into systems should be true and clear to avoid any customs penalty.
KR
customs will impose penalties in cases such as below, where vague and
meaningless/unclear descriptions are provided.
1) Numbers or alphabetic
characters are unacceptable as descriptions, e.g. 0, 1, 11, 123 , A, AA, AAA,
ACC, etc.
2) Special character words are unacceptable as descriptions,
e.g. 1, @, #, $, %, &, *, ^ , etc.
3) Meaningless words are
unacceptable as descriptions, e.g. Sample, Parts, Accessory, Goods, Gift,
