This is the latest situation than can be reported amongst the chaos that has impacted the whole of Japan following the severe destruction that has been reported in the area around the centre of the earthquake.

IMPORTANT FOR EXPORTS TO JAPAN:
PLEASE HOLD AT ORIGIN OR NEXT HUB, ALL THIS WEEKEND'S EXPORTS TO JAPAN - DO NOT SEND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - this will be updated on Sunday afternoon local time
DO NOT SEND ANY EXPORTS TO OSAKA, EVEN THOUGH THIS AIRPORT IS OPEN, our Broker has very limited possibilities to clear due the extra volumes transiting KIX..
WHEN THE SITUATION REVERTS TO NORMAL, THEN ALL MAWB's MUST BE ROUTED VIA TOKYO NARITA - THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT

Japan Airports and exports:
Tokyo Narita airport has opened this morning for limited flights only at this stage - more will be provided as and when the JP team are able to gain "correct" information - remember communications are very difficult to obtain as this is changing hourly...
Please ensure you Stop all traffic destined to Japan - we will advise on Sunday when this is to resume
The Japanese team will now try and consolidate traffic to HKG and SIN hubs for on-forwarding (more space available and more flights)
Flight uplift is limited at the moment.
