Shippers are going to all extents to mis-declare and conceal commodities that are prohibited and we request you to please minutely check all contents before tendering these to FedEx.

·         Attached are photos of medicines neatly concealed in a packet of cornflakes. The cornflakes were removed without damaging the outer packaging, medicines concealed and the outer packet neatly sealed.

o    While we know you cannot open such sealed packets, gauging the weight by holding it in your palm, could get you to know something is amiss

·         Medicines and Narcotics are also being packed in sweet boxes and shipped

o    In these cases, multiple sweet boxes are packed into one large box where a few boxes contain mis-declared commodities.

o    Your staff would check only the top layer and ignore the boxes below.

o    In these cases, you should open all sweet boxes to ensure the contents are sweets and nothing else. This may take time but should be 100% done.

We once again request you to adhere to all norms before tendering shipments to FedEx –

·         100% physical checks should be done

·         KYC should be authentic, tallied and should be that of the actual shipper

·         Please ensure the photocopy of the KYC is from the original and not from photocopies as we have known photocopies to conceal fraudulent KYC’s. This will also ensure that the actual shipper is tendering the goods and not someone else on their behalf.

·         Check for low costing products being shipped and ask why would someone send this when the freight is much higher than the cost of goods.
