Dear All,
Import
Consignments (Global Express Non Documents) - Customs - QATAR
QATAR
Customs have imposed another new law (effective 24th October 2011) where all
importers must have an import license to have the consignments cleared out of customs,
also as QATAR customs are levying customs duty for all Non Documents
irrespective of value limits (refer to broadcast made on 1 Aug 2011
"Import
Low Value Consignments - QATAR") and to pay the customs duty, TNT
Associate in Qatar has to prepare the customs Bayan (BOE) for each consignment.
In order to
prepare the Bayan we require the following;-
1.
Consignee should have a valid import license and registered in customs
system.
2.
Airwaybill with correct weight and number of pieces and correct
description.
3.
Invoice with correct description, value and country of origin.
Note :
1. Customs
duty & Legalisation charges have to be paid to customs for all consignments
(LV & HV cons).
2. Invoice
should be in the printed format and against each item the country of origin
should be stated.
3. HS Code
should be stated on the invoice (this is mandatory).
4. If
importer (receiver) has no import license or has an expired licence then the
consignment cannot be cleared. In this case there are two options available,
either the consignment is destroyed by customs, or the receiver is to provide a
letter to QATAR customs director (in arabic) saying that an import license is
not available and request to RETURN the consignment to sender. (please note RO
is only possible after the letter is provided by receiver or the only option is
to CD the consignment in customs)
5. Only used
Personal Effects consignments can be sent to personal/individual address.
With Warm Regards,
